Prediabetes is a serious health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Approximately 96 million American adults—more than 1 in 3—have prediabetes. Of those with prediabetes, more than 80% don't know they have it. More than 70% of people with prediabetes will go onto develop Type 2 diabetes at some point in their lifetime.
It's common. And most importantly, it's reversible. You can prevent or delay prediabetes from turning into type 2 diabetes with simple, proven lifestyle changes.
The best way to know if you are prediabetic is to talk to your doctor and get a hemoglobin a1c test. This test indicates your average blood sugar level for the past 2 to 3 months. In general: Below 5.7% is normal. Between 5.7% and 6.4% is diagnosed as prediabetes. You can also take the 1-minute risk quiz on our website to get a sense for if you are likely to be prediabetic.
Your likelihood of being prediabetic goes up if you have any of the following risk factors: you are overweight; are 45 years or older; have a parent, brother or sister with type 2 diabetes; are physically active less than 3 times a week; have ever had gestational diabetes or gave birth to a baby who weighed more than 9 pounds. Race and ethnicity are also a factor. African Americans, Hospanic/Latino Americans, American Indians, Pacific Islanders, and some Asian Americans are at higher risk. Take our 1-minute risk quiz on our website to see if you are likely to be predaibetic.
Lose 5 percent of your weight or reverse your Prediabetes or we’ll give you a full refund
