How do I know this program works?

Fruit Street's diabetes prevention and weight loss program is based on a clinical trial that Medicare spent over $175 million funding. The National Diabetes Prevention Program has been proven to help individuals reduce their risk for Type 2 diabetes by 58% and in people over the age of 60 they reduced their risk by 71%. This research was published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Fruit Street is also required to submit its clinical outcomes to the CDC and has achieved Full Recognition. Full Recognition means that Fruit Street consistently delivers results such as 5% average weight loss for those that participate for up to 12 months.

How does this 12-month diabetes prevention and weight loss program work?

The program is 12-months long and includes 26 classes over the course of a year with a dietitian and a group of up to 30 participants that you will go through the program with. Your registered dietitian will cover a different topic each week such as diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management. Class will meet on the same day and time every week when it is convenient for you. In between each class, you have the option to use a wireless scale and Fitbit to track your weight loss progress in our app. You will also be encouraged to take photos of your food in our mobile app which will allow your dietitian to write comments on the photos to share feedback with you throughout the week. This isn't another diet program - it is a group of supportive people working with you towards your health goals.

How much does the program cost?

The cost of the program is $200 which covers the cost of the program for the entire year. Most of our competitors charge as much as $800, but we wanted to make this as affordable as possible for patients. Get a free wireless Fitbit scale just for signing up!
